Mounting a Motorguide
I just bought a motorguide trolling motor. It has a 60†long shaft and it has 85lbs of thrust, and a wireless remote. I am trying to figure out the best way to mount the Gator mount to the deck of my toon. I don’t have the fishing deck on the front of my toon so I am looking for some ideas. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have a better pic. I have the same motor in 55lb. The mounting plate is just inside the front gate. I open the gate to mount the motor, then close it. I have to open the gate to drop it. If you look closely, you can see the motor between the fishing seats.

Some pictures of the frt and rear deck would help! Have to see what you might have as a mounting spot!

Welcome Roto
When you say you don't have a fishing deck, do you mean there is no space outside the railing (fence) or do you mean their are just no fishing chairs outside the rail. Here is one that I recently saw posted here......viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5894&p=39279&hilit= ... tor#p39279
Guess you are wanting a permanent mounting as opposed to just something that can be added when you need it.
Sounds like you will have plenty of power with 85lbs of thrust.

Re: Mounting a Motorguide
I have 2 fishing seats up front inside of the fence, I mounted mine to one side of the gate and use fasteners so I could remove it quick if I wanted to.

I neglected to get a picture and I can't get to the boat for a few days. If you look at this catalog pic of my boat, you'll see the trolling motor plug by the front gate. The mounting plate is installed right next to the plug.

Re: Mounting a Motorguide
I should have been more specific on what I am dealing with. There is no deck in front of the fence, I am thinking about making some sort of bracket so the trolling motor is on the out side of the fence. I really don’t want the mount mounted between the seats in the front of the boat.
