Either boat has its pluses and minuses. Tracker has the volume numbers and makes a decent boat. Bennington seems to be the Harley Davidson of pontoons. Great image and brand building. Also a nice boat that in my opinion, you pay for the Bennington mystique.
Keep in mind that there are many many brands of boats out there , quality boats that you won't pay the price for the name on the sides.
However, if you are happy with one or the other, buy it and don't look back. It's your money and your boat. What we all think doesn't mean shit.
Enjoy and my condolences as well.

If you're still considering a Bennington then I'll throw in my 2 cents as well. We priced an $8000 difference between two Bennington dealers for the exact same boat. The boat we bought was not one of their really expensive models either (22 SSRX; one of their cheapest models). So find different dealers, get their quotes, and start pitting them against one another. Don't give in, it's your hard earned money after all; they'll be fine.

I've had 2 Sun Trackers and loved them both. Bigger is always better. It is true, however that Bass Pro Shops sucks. If you buy there, you can always go to a private dealer if you need service.

I went to Bass Pro Shop to purchase a fish finder and inquired about installation. I was quoted $200 and a 2 week wait. I asked the dealer from where I purchased my boat about installation. The response was $80 and would be installed when it was delivered from the factory. My point is that Bass Pro Shops is over priced. I found that to be true with their boats. They were selling a 20' or 22' boat with a smaller motor for more than I spent on a 22' boat with 115 hp Mercury.

Around here (Baltimore Bass Pro Shops ) is terrible for service. They subcontracted out repairs on my '06 party Cruiser after it was heavily damaged in a storm. Quote was 6 weeks until repairs were done, ended up being 4 months. Got the boat back with all kinds of issues. I complained so loudly (LOL) that they sent a crew to my house. Even their own people complained how bad they are.

Only reason why I took it to Bass Pro was the local dealer couldn't handle the extent of the repairs. I have a thread here somewhere....

Get the Bennington. The 20SF and the 24dlx are two totally different style of pontoon. The Bennie is fishing boat, and the Tracker is more of a family cruiser.

You say you will be mostly doing Fishing. In my opinion, fishing off a 'family' boat is a PITA.

As others have said you can get a lot more boat for your money by avoiding Suntracker and the no haggle pricing. Between the two brands I'd pick a Bennington any day of the week. You can get a comparable Bennington here with the same or more features for less than the price of a Suntracker-and they are built better. I know my experience with both makes will irritate some, but that's my experience in shopping, owning and operating both brands. For the record I currently own neither one, so I have no dog in this fight.

You are correct. I had a brain fart and for some reason, I never saw that the 24dlx is available in a fishing configuration.
