I used to go through an aluminum prop yearly on my inboard outboard runabouts. When I bought my last one (before buying a pontoon boat), I switched over to a stainless propeller. In 12 years, I never put a scratch on that stainless propeller. We're on a rock bottom lake, and I've found the stainless propellers to be so much more durable in day to day usage.

I put the boat in the shop today. It's supposed to be out in time for the weekend. I'm getting a new prop shaft (taking the original one to the machine shop and getting it straightened for a spare), also, since you guys have talked me into it, upgrading to a SS, 4 blade prop.
