It is the Off Shore series... I'm just used to hearing the Yamaha 4 strokes, being called SHO's. Like all the 2's and 4's a few years ago were called Vmax's. Kinda confusing! Its about 60 pounds less than the Verado is on the Premier. Ya, I'm excited!

Just got done talking to Howard at BoatsFSBO. He sold my Manitou for me in 10 days. Listing should be done in a few days. Hope he can help sell the Premmie just as quick. Cost the same, $300, so I better take 40 gallons of gas out of the tank and hide my spare props!
He lists it on over 300 sites, so its worth the $$$.

Done deal, JT! I just listed it there, also! Thanks for the info! How's your Playcraft running? I would love to see dyno specs on that new motor! Wow!!!

Hi Bryan;

I think you will like the Yamaha! I also this year made the switch to Yamaha. I have the F350 V-8 on mine and it runs great! The thing is a torque and horsepower beast! While not as quiet as the Verado is has a nice growl to it and runs smooth as silk!

I was also unaware that Yamaha made a 300 SHO? Is that something new that is coming out or did you mean their 300 offshore series? Either way, that motor on the Manitou hull will be a hell of a setup!

Congrats!

Dan what do you have the F350 hooked up to and what's your top speed? I'm really curious what kind of speed you can get out of that motor. My mechanic said they burn an almost unbelievable amount of full at full throttle. You have issues with that?

I have the 350 on the back of a Bennington 2572 QCW. I have a picture posted here somewhere. I can hit mid 50's with the current prop. I think that's pretty good for a pontoon that's almost 28' long! Heck my old 24' Manitou SHP with the 250 HO Etec would hit 53 every day of the week!

As far as fuel goes, I'm sure it uses a little more than my previous 250 Verado or 250 HO Etec but honestly I really don't notice it... I think the Etec used 27 gallons per hour at WOT and this one might use 32 at WOT.

I would love to see what a 350 would do on 24' Manitou hull! I don't think they have the rating for it though!!
