I agree. Hell what about some of those wrecked toons we kept seeing from that one guy. All of the toons looked good, and I'd bet the entire boat wouldn't be much to buy, just for the toons. This way, you know for a fact that they are in good shape, and you can start from scratch.

I believe that would be the best thing to do in this case. It would eliminate a lot of headache's, and worries, IMO.

He did say he just bought it didn't he ? If it were mine, the dealer would take it back or end up in court with me or worse. :scared

What if he purchased from an individual, As-Is though. Then he's SOL, and needs to fix it to use it. :nutkick

I thought he said he got it from a dealer...still, if it were mine and I had just bought it, I'd get my money back. Private sale or not :scared

Yeah, I'd be beating on their door or worse over this. Dangerous to sell a boat with a hull in that condition, he'd easily win in court.

Does anyone have a picture of what pitting looks like while the boat is in the water?

Long story but I am highly suspicious that this is happening to my boat right now.

Just had it repainted in April, have these "whitish" growths on the logs (only on the logs) that don't come off unless you scrape them with something hard or crush them with your fingers. they turn to powder, don't "pop off" like a barnacle and they don't look like barnacles.

At first it'll look like white powder, then if copper was used it'll turn green. The welds tend to corrode first and you'll see them turning green. If this is teh case, have your boat soda blasted and repainted ASAP. copper paint will cause holes in a single season in saltwater.
