The stuff is not made to have voids under it. I think you are going to be happy you went the route you did.

Ghost I think you are right. While watching the underside while driving it is a constant splash of water. The Frp may work , but I don't think it will hold up for the long haul, and it may be cheaper up front but I think you will be repairing it more frequently.
