Cancelling my ordered boat

I agree with Ghost Rider. In sales what your really selling is yourself and customer service. The item tools, boats, tires, etc. are simply what allow you to make an income. Today you can buy anything anywhere. What makes the sale is honesty, outstanding customer service, personalty, and showing that you care about your business by keeping the store spotless. When I was a DM, I used to tell all the distributors when I started a new franchise , "you can never provide too much customer service". And yes there were times a home when I'd here, "sometimes you care more about your customers than you're family". That would always end up with the conversation about no customers = no money for the house payment. I felt the need to change brands when I was a tool man. The main reason for the change was the lack of customer service from my company. I went from having the number one route in my district with the original brand to number one in a time frame of six weeks with the new brand. The company I change to had never been in the area. I had a tec close to retirement that told me,"I've been buying tools for almost 40 years and in that time I never once talked to the side of the van, I did business with the man inside. You continue to business the way you always have and I guarantee you'll have 100% of all your customers and never skip a beat". He was right. That's when it hit me, it's the man, not the van. I had guy's tell me I'd still be their tool man even if I was selling Taiwan tools. Price isn't always the deciding factor. People buy from who that like and treat them the way they would expect if they were on the other side of the counter. I've seen so many business owners that were so short sighted that they would never pull money out of their wallets to make a customer happy. Instead of a small investment to make something right that day and keep the customer for life, they end up losing not only that customer, but his friends as well. The sad fact is in today's business world, you've got to kiss a lot of ass. That's OK, because then the bank teller will be kissing your ass as you make your large deposits.

BEER IS GOOD. LIFE IS GOOD. I HAVE 4 KIDS AND BUST MY ASS TO PAY THE WAY, KEEP MY WIFE AT HOME AND KEEP THEM IN FOOD AND CLOSE. I HAVE VERY LITLE TIME OFF, SO THE TIME FRAME WAS HUGE TO ME. ONCE THEY FOLLOWED UP AND GOT ME REAL INFO, I CALMED RIGHT DOWN. IT IS THE IMPACT ON MY FAMILY AND THERE DISSAPOINTMENT THAT BOTHERED ME. IF SOMETHING IS OUT OF THERE CONTROL, THEN I AM DISSAPOINTED, BUT NOT RIPPING PISSED. THE LACK OF FOLLOW UP AND EMPATHY THEY SHOWED, WAS TOTALLY CONTROLLABLE BY THEM. THAT WAS THE CATALYST TO MY REACTION. BY THE WAY, I DIDN'T SCREAM AT ANYONE OR USE PROFANITY, I SIMPLY SAID, CANCEL MY ORDER IF YOU ARN'T WILLING TO FOLLOW UP ON MY PURCHASE AND GET ME THE INFORMATION AND SOLID TIME FRAMES. I GAVE THEM A $3,000 DEPOSIT IN GOOD FAITH, WITH A PROMISE OF SERVICE AND REALISTIC TIME FRAMES. WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO CELTICS. O CRAP THEY ALREADY LOST. SOMETHING ELSE TO RUIN MY LIFE OVER. LOL.

Sometimes people vent in forums, because it helps them relieve a little tension to let it all out to a bunch of people they know will agree with them. It doesn't mean they are a total ass and act like that everywhere they go.

THAT, is no doubt what has made America great!
THAT is also why America is now an EPIC FAIL.
CEO's, VP's and all the upper managers no longer care if the business is still around in 50 years.
Infact, they dont care if it is still around in 3 years....
They swoop in, make shitty decisions that are all geared to short term profit, steal as much as they can, then run away, leaving the business RAPED.
This coupled with the DAMNING trend of politicians doing ANYTHING to get a vote, ANYTHING, including driving us into bankruptcy by adopting a Socialist stance and giving EVERYTHING away to slackers for a vote, including making citizens of OTHER counties American citizens on-the-fly just to get a vote, is what will be the down fall of America.
I believe at this rate, it will take less then 10 years.

BOAT STILL ISN'T HERE. MOTOR WAS BUILT IN 2007 NOT 2008 LIKE THE DEALER TOLD ME. THEY SCREWED UP MY WARRANTY UPGRADE FOR YAMAHAS PROMOTION. I MADE THEM GUARANTEE THE 2 YEAR WARRANTY UPGRADE EVEN IF THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AND TAKE ANOTHER $775 OFF PRRICE FOR MOTOR MISINFORMATION. THE REP FROM BENNINGTON GUARANTEED ME THE BOAT WOULD BE HERE 6/29/2010 AT THE LATEST, STILL NOT HERE. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME HE HAS GIVEN ME A BAD DELIVERY DATE. I CALLED HIM (TOM) THE BENNINGTON REP AND ASKED IF IT SHIPPED YET AND NOW HE WASN'T SURE. BETWEEN BENNINGTON AND THE DEALER, I AM COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED AND PISSED OFF. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM EITHER OF THEM AGAIN. I AM A FI DIRECTOR AT A 250 CAR A MONTH TOYOTA DEALERSHP AND CAN ASSURE YOU, WE WOULD BE BLOWING SOMEONE OUT OVER THIS SCENEARIO. Well I normally try not to resort to this b/c you get more bees with honey than vinegar right. Well a friend of mine got screwed at a car lot once and stood in thier lobby and yelled at the top of his lungs at them about it with other customers browsing around etc. They decided fairly quickly to conform to his wishes.

NOTHING LOCAL I CAN BUY. I NEED A 20 FOOT BOAT DO TO A LENGTH RESCRICTION AT MY CAMP. I WANT A 20 FOOT BOAT WITH A PERFORMANCE PACKAGE AND A 150 HORSE MOTOR. IT IS A SPECIALTY ITEM. I COULD HAVE ORDERED A PREMIER IN APRIL LIKE I DID WITH THE BENNINGTON AND RECIEVED IT IN MAY. MY BAD, I JUST WONT EVER DO BIZ WITH THESE GUYS AGAIN. NO SERVICE AT ALL. Sorry to hear about your problems with Bennington.Not sure but i think Bennington may be having some problems right now.

My Uncle owns a company called Seminole Marine. They manufacture a line of boats called Sailfish Boats. He just bought one of Benningtons lines of boats called Southwind. I know his company hasn't been doing real well lately and had to have gotten a great deal to buy them.

Wish he would buy a toon company...I may have to change to a deckboat and buy a Southwind next time.
