Spiders

#1 Post by bassn386 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 1:01 pm

I've seen some home remedies on here for keeping spiders off the boat. We just had our dock sprayed, but spiders are not insects and the pest control company wants extra $$ for the spider stuff (I really think the damn things get drunk on the stufff).
I'd like to read about some ideas that have been effective.
The boat is in a slip on a lift. The spiders seem to love making webs around the bimini top struts and just about any where else. They seem to be particularly pesky this year for some reason.
Thanks!

I use the bounce fabric sheets. I took some of these to the lake lot to repel mosquitoes so I just stuck one on each end of the gazebo. The spiders always came out around dusk to spin their webs in the corners but never saw even one that night. So now I use them along with moth balls under the mooring cover of the toon. Must be working have not seen anything

Thanks, doc. Now, do you have a suggestion for identifying male moths so I can harvest their balls?

I post pics of naked female moths. The males are easy to identify after that.

Bounce sheets for us too... Got them under almost all of the seats and tucked away in a few other spots.

They work...
