My Honda EU2000i runs the Party's Cruiser's A/C, Microwave, stove, and battery chargers fine. One winter we lost power for 18 hours and it ran my full size fridge, 42 inch LCD, computers and a couple of lamps fine.

I sent a email to Minn Kota, asking what is the HP for my 70# 24 volt here is the answer::
Richard,
It would be roughly equivalent to 1.35HP.

Has anyone tried one of these?

I liked it because you just put it on the engine and still steer with the outboard, but are using electric thrust. I guess it depends on what you're doing with the trolling motor, but I'd just be using it for backup in case of main engine failure, or quick repositioning without cranking the main...

No I am going to be using it for Flounder gigging. I think a 12 volt would be fine. Wind isn't a horrible issue because if there is too much wind it would be to choppy to fish. I love the setup mrtoler has. I don't want a permanent mount. Thanks for all the advice!

Thanks g8tors09, I love my setup also! My boat is a 24' and has double biminis and my 12volt 55lb thrust will push my boat at 5mph on it's highest setting! Of course I've got to run it a little higher if the wind is blowing but it hasn't been a issue so far! I can remove it in about 10seconds which is good for me because I have to remove it every time I park my boat at home( don't want it stolen ). I need to go buy the hand held remote to nake it that much easier just haven't got it yet!!!
