Mounting Depth Finder Transducer

Well, the new ladder is mounted and working very well, so its time to plan the next upgrade. The sound system upgrade is something I can handle, but I have some questions about adding a depth finder. Our boat does not currently have a depth finder so it will be necessary to find a way to mount everything.

There is no transducer mount on out pontoons. Is there a way to add one without taking the boat to a welding shop. Is there any other spot to mount the transducer that works well?

I'd like to go with an in dash display, but there are no unused holes currently available. There is room for a hole near the right end of the dash. Is it advisable to drill a hole for the display?

Thanks for your help.

Pix of your transom and helm will help us help you. Without welding, you might be able to mount the transducer to the transom

On the helm, you might be able to use some sort of Ram mount ....

It took awhile to get the pictures.

I have a 2002 Sweetwater and my dash appears very similar to yours. I have a in-dash Humminbird depth sounder in the exact spot you talked about. Works fine. As for where to mount the transducer, I'm afraid I'm not much help. I have a plate on the back of my starboard toon.

My hummingbird dash mount depth finder's transducer is mounted on the outside of the bracket on the back of my pontoon as seen in this photo.
