Anchor Storage
Hi -
Just wondering where does everyone store their Anchor when not in use? My wife has seen some people store in in a milk crate on the front deck. Not really what I had in mind as it may look not so nice and with the lake water dripping on the carpet, it may get stained.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Eric

Re: Anchor Storage
I keep my two anchors in the livewell that is located under one of my bench seats.

Re: Anchor Storage
We use milk crates and really like them. The anchor sits on top of the pile of rope, so you really don't get much on the carpet. We store the crates in the changing room when we aren't using them.

Milk crate
As you pull anchor the rope falls into the crate and anchor rest on rope. we slide it under our console to keep out of the way.

Re: Anchor Storage
Laying on the front deck. Mine is too big for a crate (#17) and we use it a couple times every time we go out so I don't bother trying to find a place to store it. I keep it tied to a front cleat with about 10' of rode available. That is just about right for beaching.

Re: Anchor Storage
Front storage under the seat. I always anchor from the front bow eye so It's very convenient up there. I've never had an issue with staining and any water that gets in there drains out.

Under front port seat. I too attach a D ring to front pontoon, then toss the anchor overboard.

milk crate also, keep it at the rear of the boat next to a fishing chair as we almost always throw our anchors out at the rear and tie up at the front.

LOL...I go to Dunkin Donuts about 3 times a week and there are always empty milk crates just sitting there, but I am too much of a vagina to take them. Plus, there are always cops there
