carpet maint.

I powerwashed my carpet right after bringing my toon home.(after purchase) There were bad green marks around the rear entry ladder/door area and under the table at rear seating lounge. It came off without much of a fight.

The first time we used the rear entry ladder after swimming, I am seeing green coming back to the area. Is there something I need to put down on the carpet to keep this from happening, is this a common occurrence? What can I do to eliminate this?

Not much you can do to prevent it. I get a nasty red mildew stain on the back of mine. I have to use Simple green & a wire brush. Kind of harsh but looks almost new when I'm done. I never thought about trying a power washer.

Yepper on the vinyl flooring. Best option for a toon, IMO. On the Sylvan boats, you can get carpet in the front 2/3 of the boat with vinyl at the rear near the swim ladder. I am sure others offer similar set up.

I just may look into doing that myself next year, I don't think there is going to be a whole lot of swimming done for the remainder of this year.

I wonder if I just took off the mold from the top of the carpet and its still there under it on the wood, then when it gets wet it comes back up through?

we use a wet vacum on the carpet at the end of the day to get up the water.
