I have a 22ft Bennington RLI with a 150 yamaha and the boat has the 3rd toon/esp. Will do between 38 and 42 by gps depending on 2 or 4 people and how much gas. Speed wise we usually end up just putting along at between 18 and 24 mph and gets great fuel economy. Every once in awhile I open it up either to get back early or just for fun. When I bought my boat I tossd the idea of a 225 but was told that was a 5K upgrade and only gained 4 or 5 mph on the top end. That was hard for me to justifiy. I traded a 1yr old bowrider with just 17 hours with a trailer and did not get a trailer with the toon and paid in the mid 40s. Probably got boned just a bit but we love this boat. Good luck at the boat show! Hope you find the toon of your dreams! Bill

I have a yamaha 150hp on a benny 20gli with esp package, we average about 35-36 mph loaded up and can get 39 to 40 mph with a light load. It cruises comfortably at 25-26 with good fuel consumption. It moves out really well. The boat handles the 150hp yamaha four stroke great. Paid around 33,000 with all options and a double axle trailer with giudes. Very happy with my boat and it's performace, we love it. It pulls tobers and skiers really well even with a full boat:)

I have a Bennington 2575RFi two log with Yamaha 150 and haven't yet been able to break the 30MPH mark (GPS)--wishing I had held out for a tritoon.

We love ours. Last summer I went to far down stream and my fuel gage bounced off of E about a mile and a half from the ramp on our way back. I thought well this is it. It's a long way back and I know even at half throttle we aint gonna make it. By the way, when my gage gets to 1/4 it starts to fall fast. You can practically watch it move on down at high speeds. Anyway... I just set the throttle at about a grand and idled all the way back to the ramp. I woulda lost that bet. I guess these 4 strokes will idle along for days. Top speed by myself is in the 40's. very happy.

We have a 2010 Sylvan Signature 8522 with a Honda 150. It has only two RPT tubes and the underskin and it performs very well. With GPS and ideal conditions; I've hit 43mph, but that was pushing it. I really wish the new Merc 150-4 was out when we purchased last year!

We are considering selling this Spring and are in the Atlanta area...just sayin :thumbsup

hulls ( RPT tubes) and so far I am very pleased with the boat. I think the asking price was somewhere around $33K , but it was a year old ( still new though) and I traded another boat in on it

also. I don't usually run the boat very hard, but it is nice to have the power and speed if you need it. I can deep water start slalom skiiers, pull tubes with no problem. I hope you have good luck

at the boat show. I bought this boat in late February a couple of years ago, there was snow on the ground when I first went to look at it.
Hey, I'm looking at a very similar setup - Sylvan - Mirage 8522 LZ, Two RPT Tubes, 150HP Mercury Motor. Good to see this setup getting around the same top speeds as those with three tubes.

Question for you - how is the handling in the water? Is it able to do quick sharp turns at high speeds? How is the steering - is it tough to turn the steering wheel? Do you have Hydraulic Steering or power assisted steering?

I can't say anything about the Sylvan tritoons, but as far as handling goes with two RPTs...I liken it to pushing a wheelbarrow full of rock through sand, but then again, it's a pontoon (I guess I am not adjusting well after years of go-fast v-hulls. It has hydraulic steering which is necessary for a 150 and up.
