Here at LOTO, all we have is floating docks - no pilings.

My dock is held in place by 3/8" cables connected to 2 anchoring points on land. Some folks just tie-off to trees, but we have 2 4" posts, each four feet into the ground and set with concrete. That leaves about 3 feet showing and an eye for the cable tie-off. And oh, we can get a 6 to 9 foot draw down each winter, so some loosening or tightening of the cables may be necessary. The bigger docks have 55-gallon drums, filled with concrete and cable ties, set out from their dock to minimize dock movement. My ramp just sits on a concrete step and is not anchored to anything.

What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.

I'll have the marine construction guys over next week, and let you all know what they say. Thanks for all the input.
