wave deflector

Has anyone installed or seen a deflector attached to and across the front edge of a deck . I occasionally get water over the deck from large wakes which soaks the carpet and anything on the floor up front . I was thinking of an 8 foot piece of 6 inch decking mounted upward and outward at a 45 degree angle attached by aluminum angles. . When I do get over wash it is only an inch or 2 which the deflector would hopefully prevent. ??????

I would think it would be more of a pain in the ass than anything. My vote is to add a third toon, did wonders for how high my boat sits and rides in the water, especially up front. If I get a wave over teh front now....I probably just lost teh boat to a hurricane.

A lot depends on where you boat. If you get in some of the passes Ron and I deal with, you will get waves over the deck sometimes, no matter what. The deflector the OP was describing is more to pop up the bow and get it out of the wave than to prevent water from coming over.

I'm almost always getting soaked heading out to the island if the wind is near 15 knots or higher. I haven't actually dug my deck into a wave yet though. What happens to me is water splashes up about 5-6 feet in the air and then the wind blows it back onto me, the passengers, and the deck. Not much I can do about it except wear a towel like supermans cape. I've never seen a deflector used, but someone has to be the first.
