I just purchased a used 2010Premier Sunsation 220. The only thing that I wish it had that it does not is a Ski tow bar. Does anyone know if I can have one installed after market? If yes, where can I find one to fit the boat? Thanks

A Premier dealer could hook you up with the factory ski bar, But Premier says not to use the ski bar for tubes. If you are pulling tubes they recommend a harness/yoke attached to the log eyes on a 2 log boat, and to the U-bolts on the center log if its the PTX package. You can also use the harness/yoke for pulling skiers too.

I think I might still go with the Premier tow bar. I dont recall ours having any kind of warning about not towing tubes with it - and it is certainly far more substantial (although I would guess more pricey too) than an aftermarket tow bar.

Mine is a two log boat. I had thought that I had read a different thread on here where people did not reccomend using the log eyes, as that could put to much stress on them and they could develop cracks. When I had my Wellcrart I used a harness yoke attached to the two U bolts and that worked fine. Maybe I will just do that with the toon. It would be a much cheaper solution.

I read the same thing when I got my first Premier(2 logger) the dealer had said to use the harness on the log eyes. I thought the dealer was a straight shooter but still checked directly with Premier after reading that it was a no-no. Premier said yes hook to the log eyes if its a 2 logger. Dealer was a straight shooter as I thought.
I also highly recommend using a Sports stuff booster ball if towing tubes, it gets the rope out of the water and makes it much easier to sling the tube out of the wake.

for that recent of a boat, i'd go with an OEM from premier. the new ones look sturdier than the stock one on my '03. fwiw, we pull multiple tubes from our ski bar without a problem. if you do attach to the lower mounts, i'd get one of those balls to keep it out of the water.

I'm in the same boat as Curtis here... Fab one yourself. I spent about $80 I think on mine (including the case of beer and handle of whisky I purchase for the friend to weld it for me since I don't have a welder myself). I did the yoke thing with a tube, and knee board, and if you're used to a ski boat pulling you, it sucks to be towed behind a toon with the yoke on the log eyes. Just pulls you accross the water, and not up and out of the water. I have no problems now dragging the rope in the water, and can fling a tube or 2 kneeboarders around like they are rag dolls. And this is with a 90hp on a 26 footer.
