MerCruiser 3.0L performance

#1 Post by VVet69 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:35 am

Anyone have any info on the performance of the engine on my Fisher (specs in signature blocK)

1. Optimum WOT Performance (I currently get 4000-4500 depending on wind/surface/weight load)
2. Optimum Cruise RPM range for best fuel mileage

Sorry I don't have the prop specs handy. Bought this boat used and did not get any manuals with it.

Thanks in advance!

Vvet69, if Fisher is still in business, I would call them and they can send you whatever you need.

I used to have the 140 hp Mercruiser in a Aristocraft 19' hull. 4400 rpm's were my redline.
It always got the best fuel mileage and was comfortable cruising @ 3000 rpm's, however.

My motor was a little weak trying to pull a skier from a dead stop, but they (like all I/O's) will run pretty fast once you get'em wound up.

Of course I cannot relate that to a pontoon boat in mph, however.
