Changing things up

The more I fish from my toon the more I don't like my seating arrangment. All four fishing seats don't have enough room to spin around freely without hitting the railing and tearing the vinyl..my fix for this in the front is do what I wanted to do in the beginning of my rebuild but got talked outta it. I'm going to extend my rails foward to the very front of the deck, and I'm also going to remove the arm rest at the end of my front couches. This will give me about 4' from the end of the couches to the front gate, I should be able to mount some new bigger and nicer fishing seats where they can spin freely plus add some battery/storage boxes in the front corners. For the rear it's going to be a bit more complicated, first I'm going to need a center tube about 26' long that gives me 2' extra. I'm going to fab some deck extensions on the outside logs and gain about a 1-1/2'..plus with the longer tube I'll be able to move the entire rear fence back and gain about a foot... I know this is alot of work but I'm set on doing it...it's not going to be the first time I modded the rails, so why not! Here is a couple pics of my layout, you can see a stern seat here

You can see how tight it is

Image

You can see my front seats here, there's not much leg room

Image

Here's what I'm trying to copy, I'm going to step down my rails like this to be more fishing friendly

Here is the rear tube extensions, they add about a foot I think, but I can mak mine any size I'll need

Ha I hope I never quit, I really love working on boats! I just always look for ways to make things as easy and comfortable as possible while on the water. I really want this toon to be a 40+ mph fishing machine... And someday it will

These aren't the best pics but they at least show how our's is set up for fishing... 3 point fishing set up with live well up front... plenty of room with the two fishing seats up front.... back fishing seat is a little cramped, but it's not bad.... at least you get the idea...
