Congratulations on the Yamaha. I didn't say it earlier, but I prefer the Yamaha's over the Verados.

When I buy a boat, I plan on owning it for a long, long time. (My last pontoon boat is 27 years old.) But I don't cherish having to spend $5K 10 years from now to replace a supercharger. You ought to price some of the other Verado parts and components. I'm also not as sold on Mercury as a company as I once was.

I just try to keep my life as simple as possible, and the Yamaha's are relatively simple--if there is any such thing on a modern boat. In my travels all over the Coastal Southeast U.S. and Caribbean, Yamaha's appear now to be the dominant outboard motors in the retail market.

This is why I mentioned the OptiMax earlier in the thread. The E-TEC too. 2 strokes are relatively simple and reliable. A bit more noise, but it's a trade off I am willing to take for the simplicity of operation, maintenance, and repairs.

Well a positive note stop by the dealer, and at least the trailer arrived! Just two more weeks!

I'm pretty certain you won't lament the decision to go with the yammer jammer four stroke.

However like the other poster I'm somewhat biased

Prostreet, can you elaborate? When you say you "saw it on lake pleasant party cove", what do you mean? Is that a blog, a facebook page, do they have their own website? Can you remember where you saw that?

I live near Lake Pleasant and have often wondered if there was an on-line blog, forum, facebook page, etc. Can you recall where you were on the net regarding Lake Pleasant? Thanks.
