I'm like a bad penny. I show up every where!
I'm very serious when I tell people to call me with questions or problems. SHARKHIDE does every thing I say it will and then some, but the only real problem I've had in the last 20+ years of supplying SHARKHIDE to folks would be people not paying attention to instructions. And even worse, not calling for help when they do have problems.
I got involved (thanks to a SHARKHIDE customer) with a site called ifish.net. These are guys from the Pacific North West, and all these guys have aluminum fishing boats. The're NUTS about keeping their "Sleds" (boats) looking great. You ought to go to that site and look at the crazy number of hits on the SHARKHIDE thread. This is what I wish all my customers would do, ASK, ASK, ASK questions!!!!!

Hey Craig,
It realy depends on how quick you catch it. If you suspect you've scraped your SHARKHIDE off in a spot, all you need to do is be sure the area is clean and dry, then simply swipe on another coat of SHARKHIDE. Only if you allow the bare spot to go unprotected for a period of time will you need to try to "spot blend" it into the surrounding finish.

I have a new toon on order and I will be keeping it most of the summer in the water.. I am impressed with what I am reading about SHARKHIDE and like to apply it on my new toon.. Do I need to use the cleaner to get rid of the manufacturing oil and alikes which you always have on the materials they use in the plants .. Will one quart do for the inital application...?

Hey Ngataki,
Just thought I would let you know, if you leave a boat in the slip all summer when not in use, depending how agressive your marine growth there is, the SHARKHIDE may last a couple of seasons, or it can be destroyed in as fast as a few months. The best policy would be keep it on a trailer or lift when not in use. But if worse comes to worse, from the water line down it may be devoured by the marine growth, but the part you see every day will still look brand new.
