Hello everyone,
I just took delivery of a new Bennington 20 ft Pontoon fishing boat and docked it in a wet slip on Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama where I have a lake cabin. I am completely new to boating but expect to spend a lot of time on the water. I took the boat around the lake for a couple of hours last Saturday and plan to go back again the first weekend in March to really get to know the vessel. It was surprisingly easy to handle.
I learned a lot about pontoon boats in general from reading this forum prior to making the decision for my purchase. The boat I bought was a new 2007 model that had been on their sales lot since its initial delivery. I got a really good deal on it but it does not have a freshwater sink which I wanted. The seller told me they could get me a 2009 model with this option but the cost would be a lot more. They really wanted to sell the 2007.
Does anyone know how to build a freshwater sink for a pontoon boat or where I could buy something like this and install myself? Many thanks for advice.

Welcome ! It's pretty easy to install a marine sink, the hardest part is the actual construction of the console. You will need a water supply and a holding tank, fill, drain and vent hose, fill, drain, and vent port. You can install a hand pump or an electric (I converted the Party Cruiser's sink to electric (I despised the hand pump and highly recommend electric). You'll need either a pressure, foot activated, or toggle switch to turn on the pump. The holding tank is required under USCG regulations.
Pontoons are a hell of a lot easier to install plumbing on than a runabout (I also installed the sink on my Starcraft V-hull).

Thank you for the response. My main question is where I can buy the equiopment I need to install a sink on a pontoon boat. I have done internet searches and looked at many marine websites and some local stores with out any luck. Any further assistance or direction will be appreciated.

They have sinks, taps, hand pumps, etc. Although, it looks like one has to sign in or something.
Considering the state of the market, I wonder if any pontoon manufacturer would be willing to sell parts? There are several that offer a sink console unit. I was just looking at this model yesterday -

My sink is integrated into my console, it uses a push button to turn the water on... The water is fed from a 2 gallon reservoir under my console via a little water pump!
Do you have any pictures of your layout? If I were you, I would buy a nice big cooler and build your sink into the top of that so you wouldnt mess up your nice pretty new boat! I could see it being really easy to make, you could cut a hole into the top of the cooler lid and glue in a large plastic bowl. Cut a drain hole in the bottom and feed it into a container inside the cooler. Any small 12 volt pump would work, do you have a harbor freight around? Use some copper pipe bent to make the faucet and a switch and battery to turn on the pump. I bet you could do it for around $100.00 and have your sink portable so you could put it anywhere you might be fishing on the boat?

I searched on eBay and found this:

Great Lakes Skipper has everything, this is a pontoon console...question is, does it match your boat and is it your style ? Building the cabinet is easy, the hard part is done for you....

Since you got a 20ft might want to look at one of the camping sinks. You could store it when not in use.

I certainly can't add to what everyone has said.
Just wanted to say I love Lake G. Spent 7 years in Huntsville, had a VG buddy who had a cabin a couple miles around from Guntersville. In-laws are still there. As much as I love the fly-fishing I've become addicted to here, I miss the bass fishin' there!
Oh -- you're gonna love the Bennie! We have a 2004 2575RFS with a Yammie 150, full camping enclosure. Will drop it in a slip on Navajo Lake, NM, 2 weeks from now.

Have you ask pontoon dealers if they can order a sink/console? I ordered a bar sink on my boat and it is great. If you do not have any luck finding what you want, you can call University Marine in Pell City, AL and ask for Jack the owner. He can tell you what he can provide. Good luck!

here is a pic of mine could build something like the others suggest mine is on side of helm and the backside of helm has hole that my cooler "wheels" fits right into.
