Help with LED rope lights on canopy!
Last year I saw a post from someone that had installed some LED rope lights under their canopy. They had drilled holes into the canopy frame and used some grommets for the wiring. The result was very professional looking. I wanted to do the same, but I cannot seem to find the post. Could someone help me with this project? I want to control the lights with a switch on the console. Any information/tutorials and especially pictures would be very helpful before I attempt this on my own. I am looking forward to getting this thing back to the water.

Nothing is on the front deck except removable bass seats and the fence goes all the way out. With the bass seats removed it leaves a nice open space. In the day I have a couple of foldable pool loungers out there to sunbath and nap. At night, up go the tent and the queen air mattress. I didn't even take my camper to the lake one time last year, I prefer to just stay on the boat.

Welcome aboard!
Can't help on the lights, but that is a pretty sweet setup.
Year and model and location need to be in your sig.
You already took care of the pics.

Well I put some up, but not with gromets or anything real professional. I just used zip ties. I'll dig up my old pics.

Wouldn't it be easy enough to string out lights and plug them into a DC converter? Then you wouldn't have to modify the lights at all.

The inverter would use more amps than converting them to 12 voltbeermunk wrote:Wouldn't it be easy enough to string out lights and plug them into a DC converter? Then you wouldn't have to modify the lights at all.

Try this link to what I posted a while ago on the other site. I love the lights and have not ever had a problem since I installed them. They just set the mood and finish off a perfect day everytime.
