Ugh. Just got a call this week that the storage facility we dutifully hired to store our lovely new tritoon in had the roof collapse! Unfortunately, so far all we know is that there was an accident. Don't know which boats were involved, or what kind of damage was done. So, it's off to call insurance and hopefully get out there to inspect the situation sometime this weekend.

I've been surviving winter day by day waiting to get on that boat! If old man winter screwed with my summer too I'm going to be pissed!

It's been that kind of winter, I'm seeing a lot of "toys" coming up at salvage auctions due to roof collapses. I've never seen this much snow on roofs of buildings in my life as we had this winter in Northern Minnesota and I've personally seen many roofs/building destroyed this winter.

Spoke to someone onsite and he's guessing it's a write off. Will know more tonight. My dad (who I share the boat with) is on his way up right now to check the situation out.

The admiral was very patient last summer as my Dad and I got a little obsessive in our boat shopping. She was hoping it was time to stop all that nonsense and just enjoy the boat with family this summer.

Sorry to hear about your boat! We were away yesterday and heard about tornado warnings in our area with 50-60 mph winds. Our toon is in a slip on the water and I'm always waiting for that capricious wind to take our dock and either sink it or flip it up into our yard as happened to some neighbors down the lake several years ago in a microburst.
Hope everything gets ironed out before boating season!

We'll hope for the best. Our local marina had a tornado pickup the floating docks (and boats) with 125,000 lbs. of concrete ballast on the lake bottom and slam them down. Two years previously, the same dock got loose in a flash flood, floated 3/4 mile and crunched a # of houseboats under a low bridge. Sometimes we're sure glad for insurance.

take the cash from the Insurance and buy a new one, that is definitely fixable but it will take a while.

that second to last pick may require a full teardown to fix properly, but to half-ass it would be pretty easy, insurance would want it the right way.

I wouldn't wish crappy crap like this off on anyone.

Hopefully, insurance will help take the bite out of it, but those pics certainly illustrate an "AW SHIT!" event.
