what anti-virus are you using?

vista sucks and does not play well with av programs.

i'm switching all of our machines over to avg free.
my favorite machine is still running win2000, most stable box i've ever used.
some are xp, then there's the damn vista boxes, ugh.

Why not switch to Firefox as your browser? I use it for most of my forums and internet surfing.

I agree with FireFox as I just changed over and it is super

Otherwise if Vista works similar to XP hit START/ ALL PROGRAMS/ ACCESSORIES/ SYSTEM RESTORE. Select restore to earlier date before the problem started and follow prompts.

Vista seems to be geared to high power systems with large RAM, I vista on one pc that has never had a problem.. I think the large PC mfr's pressure microsoft to build a resource hog of an OS so people have a reason to buy a new PC...

i think microsoft is cutting their own throat with vista. it is such a pig
and a mess. we wanted to plug an ipod into the front mic input or the
rear line in. as installed, vista doesn't support that. you have to add
a registry key to enable it. this is so damn basic, WTF? vista won't
recognize lots of existing printers, label printers and other peripherals.
i know more than a dozen associates who have bought apples because
of vista. i also know a handful of folks who have switched to linux.
all of them seem happier than those of us stuck battling vista. the
networking of vista machines to microsoft's own legacy machines (xp,
2k) is pathetic. i'm not sure someone could try to put out a shitty
product and do any better than microsoft did with this white elephant.
gates is so fixated on the shape of computing in 2030 that he's ignoring
the present.

Vista will eventually go down in history as Windows ME 2.

Try Ubuntu some time. Make the switch to open source.
