How big is the fuel tank on your boat?

The tank that came with my used sweetwater pontoon boat is six gallons and the outboard is a tohatsu 25hp.
I wonder if I need to take an extra tank if I want to run the river all day. Six gallons does not seem like a lot.
I have the boat in a wet slip at the beaumont yacht club and they sell gas there.

My tank is 24 gallons. On my old pontoon I had two six gallon external tanks. I always made sure that one was full and the other not close to empty. It is better to have more fuel than you need than a little less. If you are premixing your six gallon tank I would definitely get another one just to keep the mixing easy in addition to having a spare full tank.

My new boat has 21 gallons. I like it that way because I don't want to "invest" in a tank of 100% gasoline in the Fall--for it only to sit.

My old boat had a 6 gallon metal OEM tank and a 12 gallon plastic Moeller tank.

Since the farthest I can go away on my lake is 15 miles, my capacity is sufficient.

Used to have two portable six gallon tanks on the back of my logs. One day one tank went dry as a barge was coming down the river at me. Fastest tank change ever! Later that day I ordered a 13 gallon tank to mount on the deck with a real gas gauge.

I have a 45 gallon tank. I never worry about having a full tank left over in fall with my 300 VRod on back. I can burn through that in an hour and a half. Ive already burned more gas this year than two seasons with my 115. :scared

6 Gal. No marina. Not much point in me having larger than 6 Gal since that's the legal limit for filling a portable tank.

35 gallons. Have never burned more than 9 in a day of cruising and tubing.

However big (or small) your tank is, always remember the rule of 1/3s.

1/3 to go out
1/3 to get back
1/3 reserve for contingency.

I will look for an extra tank. I guess it's best to more gas than I need than be stuck on the river.

WOW, never heard of that law. I know TSC down the road sells 14 gallon tanks. Maybe a STATE law?
