2 stroke

#1 Post by drfishalot » Wed Apr 01, 2009 9:43 pm

well I decided I wanted a 4 stroke OB, but going around to several dealers today I found out that everything is 2 stroke oil injected. I thought all along that 2 strokers would be mixing oil and gas (which I wanted no part of), but if you don't have to mix.........that doesn't seem so bad. Lighter, quicker hole shot, cheaper, maybe even quieter, better ? fuel economy. what is not to like about it?? opinions?

Also a local dealer has a bentley 243, 'new' 07, tritoon, 150 optimax for 24.6k, with 2 axle trailer. Some talk of bentley being out of business now, warranties honored ? I don't know. but that seems like a lot of boat for 24.6k. I know nothing about bentley boats, thoughts on that one?
thanks in advance. Vic,

2 stroke lighter, less maintance and faster , and I think the E-Tec gets better fuel mileage than a 4 stroke and just as quite

Today's 2 strokes are a significant improvement over the old smoky 2 strokers. Still, I prefer 4 strokes for fuel economy, less pollution, and longevity.

Got an 08 243 with a 150 opti, and I love it. Think that price is a tad bit high. Maybe a grand or so cheaper. No problems so far with mine. Last rumor I heard was the previous owner will open it back up and honor the warranty work on the boats he produced only. It is a lot of bang for the buck, that is why I bought mine

He wants 25k for a boat that doesn't have any warranty, and apparently never will.

Sounds like Comrade Obama has taken over that dealership and put Bawny Fwank in charge.

Offer him 16k and tell him the government will send him Obama Bucks for the difference. :tofunny
