Polished My 'Toons! Before/After Pics

#1 Post by beermunk » Fri Apr 10, 2009 11:33 am

Finally had a day off and some nice weather. Went to Fleet Farm and bought a variable speed buffer and a polishing pad. Used Blue Magic Aluminum Polish (good stuff!) and went to town. Started at about 8:30am and finished about about 1pm with a few sammich breaks in between.

Here are the before and after pics.

You think they'd be beneficial on a tri-toon with factory lifting strakes?

Now that you've polished, make sure and apply Sharkhide before you put it in the water. Polished mine last spring and applied Sharkhide, looks just like it did when i finished.

Now I can see them. Looks great. If you tire of having the Bimini laying on your rear deck pad when in down position I have a fix for that. If interested I will get some close up pics of my modifications.

You can see what I did with uprights in rear. I leave the dark part attached to rail and unbolt and lay top inside slots. Keeps top off pad yet down for towing and nice weather. I can access changing room in down position

Oh hell yeah - that looks sweet. Any info would be appreciated. I was not crazy about towing with that thing bouncing around all the time. I also need to relocated the white light that's on the bimini.
