NV logs on I/O

#1 Post by jafo9 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 1:25 pm

I was looking at a used 25' SunTracker with the I/O Merc today at the local bass pro shop and i noticed that you can only get the NV logs on the OB toons. Is this unique to Tracker? Why no lifting strakes on I/O's vs OB's? I really liked the rear swim platform on the boat and it seemed that an OB would really get in the way of the kiddies.

strange why they don't indicate you can get them on the new models. do you have a GPS top speed?

Nope but I'll be getting that some time this summer. If I had to guess somewhere between 25-30mph.

Btw are you sure there weren't strakes? On my tri-toon they only put the strakes on the middle toon and the inside of the outer toons... so if you look at it from a distance you would think "hmmm no strakes." In fact I found them purely by accident from photos I got from the dealership. The dealership didn't even know they were there.

yeah, i looked pretty close as i was inspecting it as a possible purchase. i really like the 25ft vs. my 22ft. there seems to be a bottleneck behind my captains chair and the back gate which seems to be resolved with the extra length of the 25ft.

You can't go wrong with more space. Second regret of a new boat owner, right behind not getting a bigger motor, is not getting a bigger boat.

Of course both of those are completely dependent how much money you can convince the wife you need to spend. :)

Hey beermunk, were those strakes factory or an aftermarket? I didnt think they added em factory till 08.

Also, judging from your nick, are you a Belgian beer fan? :)

dunno if they were factory or not. The welding sure looks robotic but you never know.

What is this Belgian beer reference? I like Wisconsin beer! hehehe
