You can get by with 2 if you never unparallel the 2 batteries.

You typically can connect 2 outputs of a 3 bank charger together to increase the charge rate. For example, if you have a 3 bank charger that charges 5A per bank and you combine 2 on your parallel battery bank, you will charge those batteries at 10A.

Get the two bank, the starting battery will charge off the engine, and the two bank will keep your deep draw in great shape by not charging more than needed.

I had three bank for my 36 volt TM and I would pull 12 volt off the one of the batterys to run what ever I needed, so the two battery's just running the TM wouldn't need as much charge as the third battery so they would quit charging before the third, it's will save you money in battery's in the long run.

Also the bank charger hooks to each battery, if you had a three bank charger and only two batteries, you just don't use one set of the leads

On many chargers, you can double up two of the banks to double the current. The manual will state this.

Got a three bank charger. As I understand it the charger doesn't care about how they are wired,,,series or parallel,,, it's "smart" and gives each battery what it needs,,,, thanks all the help :alright :alright :alright

so far it has been flawless. Plugged it in the first time and it went thru a system check ,, conditioned the batteries and has been in service ever since. Very happy with it !!

On a side note I just bought a complete 36 volt Minn Kota trolling motor set-up with the MK 330 charger. It's a three bank also and the first thing I noticed is how much heavier it was than the Pro Mariner....

I see you have the i-pilot also. I just got one and have used it one time so far. How well does yours keep you at anchor? And can you tell me the difference between the two auto-pilot navigation modes ?? Any hints/tips for a newbie? Thanks
