Remove Alpha One Zinc because of new prop?

Hey all - I just replaced my old 15.25 x 15 pitch Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha 1 prop with a Solaris prop from iboats. Put the new one on, same size and it hits the zinc!

So how do I remove the zinc? We store the pontoon out of water so it's not a big deal.

Should have a screw on it somewhere so you can replace it

On an Alpha One Generation Two drive, you only have 1 anode that can possibly interfere with the prop, so I assume you are referring to the trim tab anode:

The one that looks like a fin is the trim tab anode, it's removed by a hidden bolt that's under a plastic plug:

There's a 1/2" bolt under the plug. It requires a deep socket to remove the bolt:

The standard trim tab anode has a fin:

There is also a flat trim tab anode for props that interfere with the standard fin type:

Here's a link for the flat anode:

It's a bad idea to remove the anode and if your drive is still under warranty, removing the anodes voids the warranty.

Thanks badmoonrising - that's exactly the info I was looking for.
