A few outboard questions

A few questions for you guys:

What is the difference in an outboard that is a saltwater model vs a freshwater model? I saw a 135 Optimax Saltwater on ebay. It's a 2001 with 591 hours on it. Starting bid is $3200 without controls.

Second question is swapping out the computer in an outboard to boost the HP. In this post the guy mentions you can convert this motor to 150 or 175 HP by swapping out the computer. Is this true? Anyone ever done it and can I do it to increase the HP on my 90 ELPTO?

Thanks for you help.

I can answer the first one, it made not to corrode to death in a short time being in,on and near salt water all the time.

Saltwater versions contain more stainless steel , aluminum, and better corrosion protection systems (i.e. more anodes) and less iron/steel parts.
