Hate to high jack but is your boat an 18 footer with tri-toons and a 115 HP motor? Dang that's got to move out eh? Here I am putting around with a 60 HP motor and getting ready to bite a bullet for a 75 as I don't want a bigger boat I just want some more speed and torque....

SOOO....the new prop was junk.. spitfire 4 blade 13.4X15p nothing but cavitation and topped out at 11mph at 5500rpm. LMAO, this has got to be a joke! I have never seen such poor R&D. Seriously, almost a month and a half to get a brand new boat set up. Now my gauges have moisture in them. I am really regretting buying this boat. I am writing a letter with all the pictures and sending it to tracker, not that I think they will do anything...more for my peace of mind. I really need to buy a house on the lake and scrap this piece of $h!t and buy a real boat.

Why such a small dia. prop? A 115 CT runs a 150 class prop. My 60CT runs a 75/115 dia. prop at 13.8 to 14 inch dia. No f'n wonder it is blowing out.

My 90 CT came with a 15 which was too much. Bass Pro sent me a 13P which made mine happy. It really depends on the gears. My 2014 has 2.07 where some have the 2.38 gears.

I meant 16" diameter prop for command thrust motor
the standard motors are 2.07 and command thrust are 2.38 per mercury's web site
I have a 14.4 dia x 15 and run 5700 rpm at about 28 mph
tried a 14.8 x 13 and would over rev to 6200 and was 4 miles per hour slower.

The spitfire that I installed was what "The Guru of pontoon boats" at tracker said my boat needed....I have just composed a 5 page letter to tracker...now the mooring cover is leaking and the gauges, both of them, have fog in them. I am soooo all set with this POS!!!

This whole thing is un friggen believable. A new boat should take all of a few hours for them to figure out. for what its worth my merc 115 CT runs a 13.5x17.

Just wow.
There is so much dealer and manufacturer fail in this thread that I wanna vomit. Whats the purpose of that v-plate??? Looks like an obstruction to me that casue water to do weird things.

Hoping this mess gets sorted out..and fast. Has Tracker always been this bad or is it just in the last few years?

As I commented earlier in this thread, there's no excuse for the lack of engineering and testing that didn't go into this mess . Totally inexcusable in every aspect. I have had my issues with them and can certainly feel your pain. I would invoke the Lemon Law if its applicable here. You are certainly more patient that I am. I would have already backed that bastard thru their front door already.
Let us know how it turns out and best of luck.

I agree, but I REALLY love the look, layout, and feel of this particular pontoon boat. I wouldn't be opposed to an upgrade to the next model though.

Hope all this works out for the OP, I've been chasing similar issues with a 2015 22' fishn barge. I have the 90 CT with the 2:38 gears and it came with a 15x17P prop. Top speed is 28.8 MPH @4900 RPMS.

I removed the V cavitation piece of Sh!t that was causing the blow out issues early on in the hunt.

Tracker continues to tell my local dealer that thru their R&D, they are positive that I have the right prop. What a bunch of BS. My response back to them, Your R&D can't be that good, if the V on transom had to be removed so I could turn the boat without blowing out or tilt up a schosh with the same result.

R&D my @ss.

OP Keep us posted!

I have a 115 mercury with a 15 X 15 and turn 5100 at 27mph(alone). You are over prop'd just as I am. Your 17P is way too big. You need a 14 or 15 to get the RPM's up.
