Still kickin'

#1 Post by tuned » Tue Sep 22, 2015 5:32 am

After answering a PM, it occurred to me that I haven't been on forum much this summer.

Reasons are various, including PC problems and a world-record work binge (I'm smack in the middle of THIRTY FIVE 12-hour midnight shifts) :scared

Summer went great. 'Al' was a rockstar and she/he is resting comfortably in the tent. Lots of upgrades and inventions to post. Lots of photos to post.

But I can't seem to be able to do much here from my phone. It is sooo slow on the forum compared to my PC....what gives?
Sorry but I found myself cheating on you guys and playing around on a different forum behind your backs (not THAT forum :lol3 ). FB was working much better on my phone, but dang is it fluffy. I kind of miss the rough and tumble. But only kind of :biggrin2

Hey Todd! I have some FB posts. I feel your grief. I'm working 27 of 31 days of swinging 12's. Lots of 24 hour turnarounds. Get off at 0500 and back in the next day at 0500. We need to retire! Good hearing from you, Buddy! Al is looking great!

Ouch. People often think that too much water is better than not enough. Not so sure of that. I'm still burning pieces of other peoples' docks that they leave on the pile for me.

Ugggh. Turnarounds are even worse than working straight through. At least I get acclimatized, although I don't know what daylight looks like. Crews are doubled up TFN. We just installed a large new steam turbine in my power plant. She's runnin, but not so good. Thought we were gonna launch it yesterday. I was half a block away and never felt a building shake like that :scared

Yep, we just put in a new Powder Loading system. Fired it up and took out 3 switch gear cabinets. New blower motor had a bad armature and drew WAY too much current! S--T does happen! They pulled it yesterday for a re-build... Its was brand new! Re-build???
WARRANTY??? Why would you re-build it? :x I don't get the way companies get by with this crap!

No Shit!

For the life of me, I'm puzzled as to when I found time to work.

Well well well...seems like the perfect post to hi-jack :lol3

What's up gents?!?! Looks like the LIFE bug hit us all this year. I hit the water a whopping 3 times. The "shared" toon is out, cleaned and in storage. New gig has me working 55+ hrs a week, not to mention the 1.5 hr commute. Training here and there, at least I travel on the company dime. Kids are running me ragged (in a fantastic way), and I couldn't be more proud of both.

And oh ya...the "last" toon project I pulled in the shop just before the new year is still sitting...UNTOUCHED :punchballs

On a serious note...glad to poke my head in and see all is well. Keep on keepin on men!

PS...anyone heard from Ferg?
Just one boat...after another, after another :-)
