Experimental "Craft"

#1 Post by BobG » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:37 am

I'm thinking of creating a "mono-tune" for testing purposes, and floating it in my slip next season.

Maybe 6" diameter by 3' long - one section plain aluminum, one section with shark hide, and one with epoxy paint. Leave it in the water all season, and brush one side every few weeks, to see what difference it makes. My boat stays in the lake for 5 months, so I'm anxious to see the relative merits of this.

Maybe I'll christen it the Turd...

to see what difference it makes.
Just curious, what difference(s) are you looking for?

Will algae grow on sharkhide?

IMHO if you are going to paint the "turd" I'm thinking antifoulant, or is that what you are going to do?
