Question: How to clean Aluminum Logs NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT!

Hello I have a pontoon boat that has been a demo in fresh water lakes. I want to clean it before I put a coat of protectant on it, because I will be using it in the salt.
I don't want to use the foaming to white cleaners, I just want to prep it.
