I didn't check the price that is to much, Minn Koda needs to make an auto pilot that fits under the deck

That's awfully cool. And, almost 4K makes it a really expensive kind of cool. Though since it's a Canadian company I would definitely want to know which currency that price is listed in. $4K Cdn is only $2800 US right now! That doesn't help Canucks like me, but it might sway some US buyers.

It definitely reminds me of the projects posted here by Seon and GBob too. Just a more polished version for the consumer market.

I actually contacted them to see whether the price was in US or Canadian dollars. I'll post an update when they get back to me...

Nice idea, but they're pretty proud of that product at $4K. Approaching the installation costs of a bow thruster on a fiberglass boat

How do I come up with a steerable, retractable, and AFFORDABLE trolling motor like that?

Price is pretty high and it would be in the way of my loading guides on the trailer.

A buddy of mine is having one put on his 27" dual console fishing boat for the same price but it is more work to install it.

I wonder how much R&D they have in them and how much each unit costs them. $4k seems like a lot since its more or less a retracting trolling motor without GPS guidance or any real brain behind it. I'm not sure it would be worth it for most, esp since guides on a trailer can become an issue.
