What size and type of anchor and electric anchor wench should we install on a 29' tritoon? Do you recommend one on the bow and the stern? We are in a lake that has a shale and clay bottom with buried tree stumps in places. There're strong currents in certain areas, as well.

Thanks!

i use http://www.basspro.com/TRAC-Outdoor-Anc ... uct/91016/ with a 25lb mushroom anchor, mounted starboard bow.... it works well in the lake, but doesn't work well in moving current with sandy bottom. it'll skip over a sandy bottom, like my hand across my wife's bikini-clad butt!
here's my self-imposed guide... after deploying anchor and plenty of rode - if there's rough water, or any current, i'll wrap the rope around a cleat, to reduce the pull against the motor gears.... when it's time to retract, if mushroom gets 'hard stuck' in mud, i break it loose manually, then use motor to retract line.... since i usually anchor in 'quiet' areas, there's not much current/waves, so the anchor winch pulls it loose without a problem..... when the anchor is about 1' below waterline, i'll drive forward or backwards to rinse the clumps of mud from it before fully retracting it...... i unclip and remove the anchor from rope when trailering.... when parked, i cover motor/rope with bucket, to reduce the UV rays baking the rope....
