Looking for expected top speed and what to expect in fuel use for this boat. Found what appears to be a fair deal. Anything I should be concerned about with Sweetwater, etc? Opps...sorry... 22'

I've got a 2015 20" Sweetwater with a 90 Yamaha. With 2 people and a full tank of gas I attain 28/29 MPH on the GPS and it sips fuel. As far as quality, I have no complaints. Love the boat.

I have a 2015 240 DF Sweetwater. Overall length 25' 8" 2 tubes lifting Strakes , first year out with Yamaha F115LB 27.5 MPH.
However been trying to get rid of cavitation problem and regain that speed. Currently getting 24 MPH.
With right setup I think around 29 MPH would be the best I could hope for. I'd be happy with a reliable 25 MPH.
For me that works for fishing cruising and tubing.
In general I'm happy with the quality of the boat and love the floor plan.

Have a 23 foot toon with 115 Yamaha speed between 30-35. Fuel use seems to be good never have checked anything to see what I am getting. A lot depends on speed and weather wind and waves.

Surely you have a tri-toon. Very few two toon boats with 115's will hit 30 MPH or above. (A certain two toon Suntracker with strakes is one exception I know.)

I'm with you. I have a 23 ft two toon rig w a FB 115 Yamaha and with 4 people and half tank of fuel the best I EVER got was 27 mph GPS on a dead calm , glass watered day. Most days its a max of 25 but then I run full throttle only 5% of the time anyway. Im not gonna say it cant happen , but its pretty unlikely, especially with no lifting strakes. If it has strakes , then it very well might ...every so often

I did have one of those trackers you speak of with a 90 Merc on it ..That bastard would run 34-35 M.P.H GPS all day long.

I've got an old Starcraft pontoon with a Yamaha 115 hp 2 stroke. It accelerates like a bass boat coming out of the hole, but all of a sudden it hits a mph wall. That's because it's pontoon boats are displacement hulls. To get any more speed with 2 toons requires a great deal of horsepower.

The other trick to getting speed is getting those nosecones out of the water--which requires lifting strakes. The problem then is in a tight turn, the outside toon will dig in deep and really slow you down. Tritoons with strakes don't dig in so much and they corner so much better.
