deck restoration question

#1 Post by dadmire » Sun Mar 20, 2016 9:24 pm

I'm pulling the carpet soon on a pontoon rebuild and will replace with a painted non-skid surface.

My question: The wood decking is in decent shape I think, but can I instead take up the wood and only paint the metal deck underneath?

You can't have wood and a metal deck too, if your wood is solid and you're sure it won't go bad before the floor leave it be, you can seal the bottom of the wood.

I could have left my wood, we have used it in other projects, and kept us from have to plug holes as we changed ours from a fish n fun to a sun n fun model and we wanted to make sure, since you have to strip everything off anyway
