You clean your toons with what?
Just wondering if there is a product worth the money for cleaning/brighting up the pontoons that is no more involved than spraying on and hosing off? I'll be pulling my toon for powerwashing when I get home in April and just figured while I was at it I'd try to give them a freshened up shine but I'm not interested in scrubbing or buffing them....

Sure. There are acid based cleaners on the retail market. But you'll need to polish the toons to get the shine back.

Sure I understand that I'd need to polish to get a real shine back.... Not interested in that kind of labor as it does not mean all that much to me. Just wondering if the products like NAPA Alum Brightener or Toon Brite are worth the money and time during an annual power wash...Bamaman wrote:Sure. NAPA Aluminum Bright from NAPA Auto Parts...works great! Foams up like oven cleaner and power wash off. Toons look like new. Takes off all the scum and I usually just spray on ..power wash...spray on a second time to get the missed areas and power wash.

I read this in the fall of 2015 on this site. Hasn't had the boat out on the water since then but I plan to try:
Spoiledrotten wrote:I've mentioned this on another forum, but not sure if I did here or not, but an easy way to keep the scum off is Lemon Pledge. Clean your toons very well, then apply a coating of Lemon Pledge. Each time you come in, wipe them down with the LP again. It only take a very few minutes after each use, but it keep a protective coat on them and they stay shiny and new looking. My neighbor got me to doing this after seeing his 10 year bass boat that still looks like he pulled it off of the showroom floor.
