I have had my snap on full mooring cover for a few years now and was wondering where can I take it to get it washed? Or just stretch it out in the drive Way and use a scrub brush and soap..
How have you all accomplished this task?

I stretch mine over a plastic coated cable hung fairly high between two trees. Spray on a mix of water and Dawn detergent, scrub it down, rinse well. After it has dried out reapply 303 Fabric Guard. Let that dry good. Done

Somewhere I read throwing it in a swimming pool overnight. Just the right amount of chlorine to lift stains. Then rinse.
Not sure why you would have a pool and a boat though?

I've yet to need that thorough kind of scrubbing, but I have spread both mooring and unzipped bimini fabric on the driveway and applied 303 Fabric Protectant.
Doing the same with whatever cleaner you need should be as effective. Brush mops and rags work fine for me.
Before completely dry, I zip the bimini fabric on it's frame and snap the mooring cover on the fence so it all dries stretched to fit.
I'd be careful using pressure washers or wand at the car wash. With my luck I'd split something.
Before the pollen hit, I hose-washed my cover with mild degreaser, which got off most of the spider and bird poop. Let dry, then applied 303 using a pump up garden sprayer. Used a ladder from above and sprayed a coat over the dual biminis and the mooring cover. Now, with a spray and rinse and the covers look great.
Not to rub it in, but let a little more pollen finish up and I'm ready to splash.

I've wondered what would happen if I put the bimini top or mooring covering one of those big washers at the laundromat and washed it that way.
Anyone????

There was an episode of Ship Shape TV that will be running again on Wednesday where they used an obex product and just put their canvas in a washing machine. I think they also did another back with a cleaner that did the same thing. Also, you can put in there with their mold and mildew treatment I think...can't remember exactly what they did but might be worth a watch. I'm not sure it would fit in most home units (maybe one of the super duty size) but I would try a laundromat.

You can call around for a laundromat that will do it. Possibly one near a Marina. You can also check with places that make them. They should know who can wash it.
The company that made mine gave me the card of a laundry that does covers in Havasu. She said to wash it in 1 year. Not sooner. Not later. She said after it's washed, bring it back to her and she'll inspect it and repair any worn areas, broken snaps, tears, etc. She said to do that every year and it'll last as long as the boat.

As above said it's in fox sports Carolinas. Saturday at 10 am and reruns Sunday and Wednesday. If it's not in your area they have a new digital subscription service where you can watch all episodes they have ever made.

Thanks for the info guys. I have FS1 and FS2, but no FS Carolina. Maybe they don't think we need boat info in the Arizona deserts.
