Suzuki, check..... Ex mechanic, check..... What do you need to know? There really isn't much to the basic stuff on any of the Modern 4 strokes.

Hello,I have a 90 hp suzuki 4 stroke that runs good but has an idle problem. I have a good back ground in mechanics and even took a outboard motor repair course many years ago. I have a shop manual (cd) for my motor and plan on doing an idle speed adjustment and just wondered if there was anyone that was doing their own maint. and repair in case I needed a little advise here and there. i will give it a try over the weekend and see how it goes.

Do you have the Old big 90 or the new Smaller 90? The Older 90, like the 115 and 140, are known to have the IACs (Idle air control) valve get dirty or go bad. Also they seem to be picky about spark plugs and your fix might be as simple as a new set of plugs.
