A dealer here sells them and had some at the boat show. Didn't really look too much as I didn't like the layout of any of the ones they had, but the build quality above deck seemed pretty good. I'll have to look and see what it is like below deck.

Just bought a 2017 230RF Tritoon with a 225 Honda on the back. It's fully loaded standard which is really nice. The setback is that it's not as customizable as other lines, the positive is that it's about 15% cheaper than it's competitors. I was looking at a Sweetwater Premium with the same options and it came up over 60k with all the options added. Same with Bennington. I was able to get a demo for 41k rather than the 50k the 230RF usually goes for. The only option I didn't get was the pillow top seats, but the Coach seats are still very nice. I've only had it a month or so, but it's been awesome. Highly recommend it!

The Coach owner has had a hard time staying in Business. He has his business about 20 mins from me. They have changed names several times. Its like a ghost town there. The boat show earlier this year had Coach boats from other dealers. The owner of Coach didn't bring any. They had a really bad year last year. Almost went under. That came from the owners mouth. Not sure how long they will stay afloat.

Captain28570...

I bought all three (Bentley, South Bay, Xcursion) of my toons from Wendell. Always gave me a good trade and a good deal on my next one. Disappointed they quit selling Xcursion then I did some searching and found out he and Charles Riddle (I assume the money man) started Coach. Wendell always said he was involved in the design of Xcursion and I ended up finding this blurb from Boating Industry:

************

Xcursion Marketing Group and Forest River have reached a resolution to the dispute over the Xcursion brand name. Chris Riddle, president/CEO of Xcursion Marketing Group and Coach Pontoons said in a statement that the companies "have reached a business resolution" and that Forest River has transferred to Xcursion Marketing Group (XMG), the product name “XCURSION” related to the Xcursion Pontoon Boat effective April 1, 2016. More information will be forthcoming about Xcursion, Riddle said.

************

I hope they make it as I have seen a couple of their boats on False River and they look top notch. Plus, Wendell has been successfully selling toons for many years.

Gents,

Found an end of the season special deal and I want your opinion. Its a Black out edition 230 RL with a 150 Honda on the back. This has the upgraded Tritoon performance package (full 3rd log) along with the upgrade teak flooring ($1710) and a changing station ($500). The black out edition looks really sharp and my wife fell in love with the rear loungers. The dealership wants to make room for the new 2018's so they gave us a price of $37,700 and after tax and transportation (This boat is 10 hours away) I am still under $40,000. Seems pretty solid to me as this same boat in the 2018 version was quoted to me at $48,000. I have called 7 or 8 different dealers and nobody can come close to matching this price even on a few demo boats so I am confident its a solid deal but still want feedback.

As for Coach I see they are a new player in the pontoon world but from what I have read online they make a solid boat with plenty of standard upgrades. Any other feedback or info on this company in terms of the quality of the boats they make would be very helpful.

Thanks,

BobL

I have been in a couple of their boats and they are top notch. One of the owners of Coach (Wendell) is top notch, knows his stuff, and has been around the industry for 20-30 years....he knows quality.

With that being said, here are few comments/observations in case something happens with Coach.

1 - Honda and your dealer (not Coach) would be involved in any motor warranties and repairs. That is the most expensive single item on your boat.

2 - Not sure if your price includes a trailer but the trailer is expensive and I doubt Coach had anything to do with that.

3 - Controls and Electronics - those are generally standard so don't see a warranty issue with them as long as the dealer works with you.

4 - Now comes the toons and frame (structural). Maybe your dealer can give you something in writing that if anything happens to those then they (not Coach) will personally guarantee to fix them during the warranty period. A lot of times, dealers have those fixed locally and are reimbursed by the manufacturer for the repairs.

5 - Furniture/Console/Flooring/Fences - this may be the only issue that could leave you holding the bag in case something goes wrong.....and most of this would be due to you ripping something or running into something. All of these items are typically built specifically for (or by) the manufacturer so replacing them will be out of your dealer's control.

With all that being said, you can apply the above to any lower tier (NOT lower quality but lower tier BASED ON SALES volume) manufacturer. Any manufacturer has the potential to go out of business.

If your dealer is confident in Coach and can assure you that they will personally take care of you if Coach cannot then I would go for it.

Would be curious to see if any other members have ever had to deal with warranty claims or replacement parts from manufacturers that went out of business.

Really good deal if it includes a trailer. They make a nice boat. I almost bought one. But the few boats he had (Wendell). Had been on the lot for a while or inside for a while. 2016 models. He wanted upper 30's for a boat similar to yours.

I was by there place the other day. No boats outside and no cars outside. Been like that for a while. Will stop by and actually do some research on whats going on with Coach.
