Rough water package

Just curious some manufactures offer this as a option:
Is this something really needed,I mean do they use 1000 screws instead of 800

Went to manufacturer
Our rough water package includes reinforced splash guards and reinforced stern M brackets. Let us know if we can be of further assistance ~ thanks!

I would have thought underskinning would be a part.
