Motor pod flooding to point of no speed
I am new to pontoons. We have 2015 Premier 22' w/30"PTX. Sealegs and no skin. After a month of use, with no issues, all of a sudden motor pod is flodding to point the water flowing over the top and out the back like a river with only 4 adults?? But not all the time?
Is it really necessary to balance load that much in tritoon?
Newbie help

Re: Motor pod flooding to point of no speed
When this happens have you noticed any thing in particular about what is going on such as fully loaded with fuel? Have you tried a different speed or changing the trim in the motor? My little Sun Tracker has on of these open motor pods an I notice it more when I'm at "plowing" speeds. Sometimes I can tune it out by adjusting the the trim of the motor. As I've usually just me and the wife on board I don't see the need to tell her where to sit, but sometimes with 4 or more passengers I've got to suggest to move some load forward.

Are the sea legs fully retracted?
Re: Motor pod flooding to point of no speed
Dang I glossed tight over that... Those things even when fully stored are going to cause and/or effect the spray pattern under the boat a lot...jrolin1 wrote:Are the sea legs fully retracted?

The sea legs are retracted.
Doesn't seem to make a difference, where people sit when loaded. It does it with 2 adults in back and 1 up front. if I move the 2 from the back to the middle it helps.
Thanks

Also if your's is like mine the transom end is open (IE offers no flotation) and that while unnerving the water filled pod really hurts nothing...

Re: Motor pod flooding to point of no speed
I might have an issue with sealegs not retracting completely or not staying up. then it directs water up which ends up in pod.
i will let you know if i find out that is it.
thanks

That would certainly do it...Mille Lacs wrote:I might have an issue with sealegs not retracting completely or not staying up. then it directs water up which ends up in pod.
