2013 Aqua Patio 200
I am looking at purchasing a brand new 2013 Aqua Patio 200 (22FT) with a 2015 merc115hp with less than 10 hours or the dealer will put on a brand new 2016 merc90hp. The price is 23,800 out the door. As this is my first pontoon purchase, I am wondering if this is a good price. I have been shopping around for over a year including reading the info provided on this forum. The price is about the max my wife and I want to go. It is what the dealer gave for the price and I haven't countered with anything yet. The price does not include a trailer. Any help or advice anyone can give us is greatly appreciated, especially in regards to Aqua Patio.

What's the price with the 115? You should be able to buy the extended protection plan on that 115 since it is still under warranty which I believe you can take up to 8 years. If the motor has never been titled or placed into service then the warranty hasn't started on that. It's my understanding on the new Mercury motors the model year isn't assigned until it is titled, but I could be wrong.Topjob wrote:I am looking at purchasing a brand new 2013 Aqua Patio 200 (22FT) with a 2015 merc115hp with less than 10 hours or the dealer will put on a brand new 2016 merc90hp. The price is the same with either motor and the 115 has not been titled so they said I would get the full new warranty with it. The 115 is coming off another pontoon that they had sold but the buyer, after putting 5-10 hours on it, decided he wanted a 150hp on his pontoon now. What do you think about the price and about Aqua Patio's in general. It looks like a very nice pontoon and quite plush, as far as the seats. It does have carpet but teak looking vinyl in the rear by the ladder and motor.mpilot wrote:What's the price with the 115? Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
They are good boats from what I have seen. As long as both motors, and the boat, have factory warranties I'd go with the 115 and I think it's a pretty good deal. I think they are sort of middle of the line between the Sweetwater and Sanpan lines for Godfrey. That being said I've seen cheap looking aqua patios and ones that would hang with any other high dollar boat, all depends on the options. That seems like a good deal as long as neither has been titled. I'd have them make sure he did the 2 hour/10 hour break in window correctly on the computer and if it wasn't done correctly get something in writing saying that it won't void the warranty. Also ask them about the 8 year service plan that is available for purchase. Finally, I learned to read the manual and not always believe what the dealer/mechanic tells you for break in, service, etc. Assuming it's the same as my four stroke they may want to see it at 20 hours, but the manual and warranty do not require it. If they are adamant about having it done, I'd try to have them throw it in with the cost of the boat if possible because it is nice for them to be able and give the boat and rigging a once over.Topjob wrote:The price is the same with either motor and the 115 has not been titled so they said I would get the full new warranty with it. One more thing to consider is the boat has been sitting on the lot a while, so you might can make them a stupid offer on it if they haven't already come down some. We bought (read as stole) our new boat we ordered for around 30% off MSRP and the dealer barely made money on it so that seems to be about the markup they have on things. The brand is newer to our lake and they wanted people out there showing the boats off, plus we dealt with the owner of all 3 locations, so we got a heck of a deal.
Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
Thanks for the replies and info Mpilot. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this pontoon and price?

Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
I have a 2016 Aqua Patio SL220 and love it. Great boat so far. Our boat is 22' but he pontoons are 24'. It is a triple with a Honda 150 and I paid a lot more than $23K so it sounds like a great deal to me.
Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
I did buy the Aqua Patio but ended up with the brand new 90hp 4 Stroke Mercury Command Thrust. When we pulled into the dealer to close the deal the 115hp was sold and sitting on someone else's new pontoon already. I will be getting delivery in the next day or 2.

I'm curious how you like your "16" command thrust? I just purchased a 2016 Cypress Cay with same motor. Wondering what kind of speeds your getting?

I am getting about 25 mph with just the wife and myself at wot. It was the same speed when I test drove it with a 75hp 4 stroke Merc. I am not satisfied with the speed and when I picked the pontoon the 1st time it had the wrong prop on, a 3 blade that was on the 75hp. They said the other prop is on order and circumstances were such that I waited til the off season for them to change it. They will be changing it out to the 4 blade spitfire over the winter and I'm hoping this will help. Overall, I am very satisfied with how the motor ran. I did get the pontoon for $22,500 out the door. Tax and registration included with some other things thrown in (delivery and hall out for a couple of years, free winterization for 2 years, inside storage for $220...etc).

Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
I've had the same issue with the motor. 2 people wot 24.75, factory suggested different props; none of which improved the speed. Back and forth with the manufacturer where one of the responses was " specs say 24-28 so the boat is performing as it should".
The response from the manufacturer was a lot guessing and waiting for engineers to come up with a solution. Cypress Cay which is is a Brunswick company had absolutely no solutions to fix the issue or offer any alternatives. The dealers hands were tied because it all fell under warranty. Dealer came through and saved the day; 2017 with Mercury 150 on the way. Sadly had to stay with cypress cay but maybe 2nd times a charm.
Hopefully the prop fixes your problems. But a 20ft should be fast than my 23'

I have a 16 cypress cay 23 footer with the 150. If they haven't fixed the transom problem you will probably have a ton of spray and only see mid 30's. They are trying to get mine right along with some other warranty stuff. Basically the issue is they use a xl (25") shaft on an 18" transom on the tritoon. 2015 and before they used the long shaft and were seeing speeds around 40. To be exact my setup is the Seabreeze 230 with the pp+ package and 150 mercury.
To the OP that boat should be in the low to mid thirties I would imagine with the right prop

Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
We had all the same problems with our 230 with the 90 CT. First the back half of boat had spray so bad you couldn't sit there. Factory said they changed transom pods mid model year and sent out a shield to mount on bottom of pod. I was assured with lifting strakes and the 150 opti. Would get high thirties.... We'll see....
I've never had such a hard time with a new purchase. Seems like things you'd have to worry about with used not brand new....
I would've lost too much money to go with a different manufacturer but I'm hopeful if works out. One thing for sure is that my 230 with the 90ct was a dog. People with 75h.p. we're getting same speeds I was.

I haven't been impressed with the hull at all on ours honestly. We ordered in February but boat wasn't delivered until mid may. Ours still had the transom that needs deflectors I guess because they are supposed to be ordering those. I'm hopeful we can get the transom issues fixed since we are dealing with the engineering department and not the warranty department at this point.

Re: 2013 Aqua Patio 200
All I can say is good luck! I spoke with head of warranty and engineering depts. and they couldn't accomplish anything besides the shield. Shield helped with spray but ultimately they had to lower the motor (against engineers wishes) to get it to go away completely. We still couldn't trim up more than 1/8 on the trim gauge and their response was "its a pontoon your not supposed to trim". I wasn't gonna wait to see if they ever figured it out.
Kudos to my marina though they made it right and took it back on trade and assure me the new one will not have these issues. Multiple people have 16 230s with 150 and are hitting higher 30s, so I can only hope.
Good luck hopefully they figure yours out.

Thanks. My motor is mounted as high as it will go, I can go to the top of the trim limit, wot and go into the hardest turn I can and it won't cavitate. My dealer agrees the motor is still too low and the worst case scenario is putting on a jack plate to get it up even more. My cavitation plate is about 4 inches below the bottom of the toons. It's been a hassle but I think they will get it straight
Another tip- if you are going to store with the Bimini top open and mooring cover on make sure they put cut outs for your front mounts as they didn't on ours.
