Marine Electrical Tape?

I have used electrical tape under our console only to find that the tape adhesive turns to goo maybe because of the heat build-up under the mooring cover most of the time.
Is there a product better suited than plain electrical tape? Maybe just switch to heat shrink tubing after applying a bit of dielectric grease?
Thanks!

I will only use Scotch brand Super 33+ Electrical tape here at work on board ship as well as at home, car, bikes, boats etc...
It is the absolute best tape on the market hands down end of story....
Heat shrink tubing is very nice but awkward to use in a lot of situations...

Should be available at your local ACE, True Value, Lowes, HD etc...

Yes, you're right. I looked at Ace.com, but only found a 10 pack. Went to the local Ace and they have it by the roll. Thanks...

I use Scotch 70 Self-Fusing Silicone Rubber Electrical Tape.
It's expen$ive stuff, but I got lucky and found 8 rolls in the bottom of a box of stuff I bought at an industrial auction for a couple dollars. Otherwise I would have never heard of it!
