Hi we are looking at purchasing a Premier Pontoon and rally want a ski locker in the middle pontoon.
Is there problems with water accumulating in there?
Is there a bilge pump or a drain ?
Thanks

Re: Premier Ski Locker Drain
I think most center pontoon storage areas have automatic bilge pumps. Our does. All the hard knocks of pulling tubers and wake board riders had bounced ours out of the silicone adhesive that kept it in place. I guess one night it ran til the battery was drained. I've got mine on a switch now since nothing I've used as adhesive keeps it in place. The synthetic plywood storage floor has even broken the struts loose that keep them in place. Not sure what kind of adhesive held those in place. Not much will stick aluminum to aluminum except maybe welding.
Our storage locker was nearly full of water on recent inspection - lots and lots of rain over the winter for some reason always runs into the ski locker no mater the pitch angle or if the playpen cover is on. The pump usually makes short work of getting it almost dry.
We generally only store stuff that will not die if wet - noodles, and a bunch of vests, floaties, etc.

Re: Premier Ski Locker Drain
The Premiers with PTX I've seen have a drain tube and when loaded heavy can sit low enough that a little water will make its way into the ski locker, especially the shorter 20-22' models with the skinny 30" PTX.

Re: Premier Ski Locker Drain
My old Premier-36" PTX had the drain. But the drain is higher than the bottom of the well. Water would accumulate inside so I would towel it off the plastic platform on the bottom, otherwise it would mildew and start to smell musty. The new Manitou has a bilge pump. I never got a lot of water in the Premiers. It sealed nice and tight, it would just accumulate from putting wet tubes, skis, bag chairs and stuff like that in it. I always open up the lockers after use to help air dry them out.
Good luck on your purchase, if you need any Premier advise, let me know, I'll be glad to help...
