My Bad Luck at the Dock

#1 Post by Stereoman » Fri Aug 05, 2016 3:30 pm

I have a few questions regarding my Sylvan 822 FNC Yamaha SHO 115 that I purchased in June 2016. I was out boating on the Missouri River last week and used a ramp that was not in the best shape. The slab was broken below the water line and that caused the trailer to twist a little. The long and short of it was I had pulled all the wall onto the trailer and noticed it was not centered. It was very hard to get it back off and in doing so I hit the high dock with the back of my boat. I think it also had some old nails in he dock that scratched one of my toons. I normally pull my trailer close to the dock so I can step out and not get wet (My Bad). Here are a few of the pictures of the damage. I am not sure how much this is going to cost to get repaired but I wanted some input. Thanks in advance.

huh? from the pics, it seems like those are battle scars......

i don't think id fuss much about that, after the first hour.... or day.....

someone once said.. "scars are evidence of a life, well lived"

but, I'm sure there's folks here that can help you get those taken right out....

:censored I should have resized the pictures. The back end cap is bent and i am not sure if you can bend them back into shape. The skirt on the back corner is dented and I am not sure if I will make it look worse if I mess with it. I don't mind battle scares, I just wish it was years away not a month after my purchase. The Missouri is a fast running river at about 2.9-3.1 MPH and things can get tricky. We don't have a lot of options close by in Omaha, Ne

Ya that stinks. I have a few spots on mine & feel the same way. I am thinking of using two rubber mallets to try & straighten out the panels.

I have to ask about the lonely nut resting on the tube at the back corner. I just got an '07 Sylvan and I noticed the bolts that mount the tubes/logs to the Z" & "U" bars, some are loose.

shoot, that's nothin. I have far worse from the fork lifts at my marina. Pontoons are pretty tough in general.

That'll knock the new off a boat real quick. Look on the bright side. No puncture wound!

My boat has it's share of battle scars from the dock. I learned real quick, these are going to show worse than if I still had my fiberglass center console. I've got worse things to worry with.
