PROPS TO YOU!!!!!

I think a lot of us have experimented with different props for our toons, before finding one that works for our particular application. Rather than having the ones that didn't work sit on a shelf gathering dust, how about using this thread to offer them to others? Either as an outright sale or trade.

If you have a prop that you tried but didn't work, or one from an old boat or an extra one laying around, put it up here and see if someone else can use it. Even if you have one that is a little mangled, someone might want it to rebuild or use as a spare. You can also put up the specs for a prop that you'd like to try. Maybe someone has an extra.

Please put the the following info*:

Diameter
Pitch
Number of Blades
Aluminum or Stainless
Prop Brand
Part Number
Engine make
Uses Hub Insert or Not (A hub insert will allow the prop to work on almost any engine make)
Photo (if possible)
Location
Price plus Shipping.

*Dia/Pitch and/or part number is usually stamped on the side of the prop body, on a blade or on the end of the hub. See below for common locations.

Mine is a 14.25x17 SS Solas 3 blade. Yamaha F225 4 stroke. I run 6200RPM at WOT no matter how the boat is loaded. Speed drops proportional to higher loads - more folks slower speed but same RPM. Lower efficiency more slip. I've always wanted to try a 19 pitch really high efficiency prop like possibly a reliance but have not been willing to part with the $$$. Would be great to try one out. Jerry Rinker set up our boat and I think it is set up real sweet running just under the rev limiter.

DOH - the diameter of the "hub area" (not the whole prop, just the cylinder the blades connect to, i have no idea what it's called) is too big for the gear case on my Johnson, so can't use the prop. If anyone else is interested i'll sell it back out.

Are you sure it's not just a matter of getting the flo-torque hub insert? Teecro said the insert was not included.

yah - the hub isn't the issue. I called B-Blades (internet prop dealer) to make sure I was getting the right hub kit and he explained that he just got a spitfire back for this same reason. Johnson V4 gear cases are too small to fit the spitfires entry point diameter. Here is the lip on a prop made for the gear case. (This isn't my prop, just something i found going through google.)

Now, he did say i could probably take it to a local prop shop and have them grind it down so it would fit. But being that I wasn't sure if it was the right prop for me anyway, I would rather not make a permanent modification to it.
